Îmi amintesc, dulce copilărie, îmi amintesc
Cum odată pe o pajiște
Mi te-ai arătat printre nori
Și mi-ai vorbit.
M-ai luat cu tine,
Călare pe un pegas
Și m-ai ghidat printre fantasme și povești.
Cavalerul călare pe un dragon
Mi-a creionat Evul Mediu,
Iar Ulise în ale sale călătorii
Mi-a povestit despre sirene și ciclopi.
În temple mi s-au arătat zeii
Și mi-au luminat gândirea.
Seara, pe când mă întorceam,
Penelope și zânele florilor, invitație mi-au dat
Și la bal mascat am dansat.
Însă, când distracția s-a terminat
Tu departe ai zburat
Lăsându-mă pe canapea.

Childhood
I remember, sweet childhood, I remember
When once upon a time on a meadow
You showed up between the clouds
And spoke to me.
You took me with you
On a Pegasus
And guided me through fantasy and fairy tale lands.
The knight riding on a dragon
Penciled the Middle Ages,
And Ulysses on his journeys
Told me stories about mermaids and cyclopses.
The gods showed themselves in the temples
And advised me to keep an open mind.
While I was getting home that evening
Penelope and the flower fairies gave me an invitation
And I’ve danced at a masquerade ball.
But, when the fun ended
You’ve flown far away
Leaving me on the couch.
